Nida Lawyer Sends Support to Sai Scott, Warns Posting Audio Clips May Constitute Defamation

The current hot topic online is the heated drama involving Sirinat Scott or Sai Scott the younger brother of Pai Sunit Scott or Pai Scott who posted a clip discussing family problems including a lawsuit from their mother over property that their grandfather gave, a seaside house in Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, which has escalated into a major drama.

Then, Pai Sunit posted a rebuttal clip denying Sai Scott's claims, stating the information about the Hua Hin house lawsuit was untrue. The house was originally given by their grandfather to their mother, then passed to Pai and his sibling. The mother's lawsuit was because of property damage, outside intrusion, and removal of common property.

Afterward, Sai Scott posted an audio clip of a conversation between two men, which Sai had claimed as evidence, sparking another shocking wave of discussion online.

Recently, well-known lawyer Nida Saranya Hangsukcharoen posted her views on the matter, writing, “Family problems are the ultimate dilemma, like the chicken and egg—what came first?”

She then expressed support for Sai Scott, saying, “The wounds from sexual abuse never fully heal, no matter how much time passes. Sending strength to Sai Scott.”

However, Nida also posted a caution to Sai Scott regarding posting audio clips on social media, saying, “Nonetheless, sharing audio clips publicly instead of using the court process risks constituting a criminal offense of defamation that damages reputation.” She added in a comment beneath, “Just because others do it doesn’t mean we should. People have different resources; what benefits one may harm another. Going to court is not a fun matter.”

She further added, “Don’t say secretly recorded audio clips can’t be accepted as evidence in court. There are exceptions, and courts have accepted such evidence in many cases,” amid numerous netizen comments discussing the issue.
