A woman seeks justice after her boyfriend pinned her to the car console and called others to throw acid on her, causing severe injuries. Police are preparing charges against the suspects who committed the act that led to serious harm.
According to a complaint from the victim's relatives, the woman who was acid-attacked appealed to the Deputy Minister of Education and Kanchanaburi MP for District 1, seeking justice and protection due to fear for her safety. She was severely injured after being assaulted with chemicals and received death threats.
Most recently, at 16:30 on 27 August 2026, Mr. Wimon Prakobchai, advisor to Mr. Akaranat Kankittinan, MP for Kanchanaburi District 1, and Mr. Wirot Unbua, coordinator for the same MP, along with Mr. Sirisak Kanakup, legal counsel for the MP, and Mr. Somboon Phansomboon, District Chief of Kanchanaburi Province, together with Second Lieutenant Thanayut Phinitchamontri, Deputy District Chief for Security, local militia members, and officials from the Kanchanaburi Provincial Social Development Office, visited and verified facts following a complaint received via the Deputy Minister of Education. The complaint involved a citizen seeking justice and protection due to fear of harm after being severely injured by chemical assault and threatened with death.
The injured party is a 32-year-old woman from Village No. 5, Pak Phraek Subdistrict, Mueang Kanchanaburi District. She is currently hospitalized at Phaholpolpayuhasena Hospital with chemical burns on her face and head affecting about 10% of her body.
The victim explained that she had been living with this husband for over 10 years and they have an 11-year-old daughter. However, the husband maintains two households, and she candidly admitted she is the second wife. Both households have been aware of this situation. The incident was triggered by jealousy after she had discussed with her husband about ending their relationship and starting a new life, as she no longer wanted to continue living that way.
The husband refused to accept the breakup and issued threats. When angry, he would be physically violent and warned her that if she left, she would be leaving as a lifeless body. Yesterday morning, the husband invited her out to buy something. During the trip, they argued. The husband then called a friend, who is also a rescue volunteer, who applied something over her nose and mouth, causing her to pretend to faint.
As they continued driving along a bypass road, once the husband realized she was pretending to be unconscious, he summoned the rescue volunteer friend again. At that time, she and her husband quarreled inside the car; he pinned her down on the car's front console. Then someone threw acid on her, causing severe injuries. Afterwards, the husband drove further until the car collided with a roadside barrier, enabling her to escape the vehicle. A hospital vehicle happened to pass by, allowing her to receive aid.
She now feels extremely scared, fearing she will not get justice and that her husband might come after her again. Since the husband knows many people, she worries he might evade prosecution, putting her safety at risk. She requests assistance from all officials to ensure she receives justice and, importantly, protection for herself and her 11-year-old daughter.
Relatives provided additional information that the woman was severely injured by chemical substances of unknown type thrown by her husband and associates around 03:30 on 27 August 2026. The husband was also injured and treated but left the hospital afterward. The family fears justice will not be served and worries about their safety and property.
The Kanchanaburi District Chief coordinated with the superintendent of Mueang Kanchanaburi Police Station to follow up on the case. It was reported that investigators are currently questioning witnesses and collecting evidence. The suspect has been identified and legal procedures are underway.
Regarding safety concerns raised by relatives, the District Chief has coordinated with local village headmen to conduct visits and ensure security in the area. The injured woman lives with her 11-year-old child, just the two of them.
Mr. Somboon Phansomboon, District Chief of Mueang Kanchanaburi, stated that the case has been reported to the police superintendent and significant progress has been made. Regarding the victim's safety, he has instructed local village leaders to look after the victim's family and affirmed that protection will be firmly provided to the victim's family.
