
The Social Security Office has increased support by extending the deadline for contribution payments by six months, easing the burden on employers and workers in nine southern provinces affected by flooding.
Ms. Kanchana Phoolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, revealed that due to the severe flooding impacting people and businesses in many areas of southern Thailand, the Social Security Committee on 2 December 2025 approved urgent relief measures to alleviate the burden on employers and insured persons under Sections 33 and 39 in nine affected provinces.
Ms. Kanchana said the Social Security Office recognizes the difficulties faced by businesses and workers in the affected areas. Therefore, it proposed extending the deadline for submitting contribution payment forms and payments by six months. This will give insured persons and employers time to adjust and recover their operations without being further burdened financially. The provinces granted this extension due to severe flooding include Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Pattani, Phatthalung, Yala, Songkhla, Satun, and Surat Thani. The Secretary-General of the Social Security Office added that the committee's resolution aims to reduce the economic impact on businesses and workers in disaster areas. She confirmed that the Social Security Office will carefully consider the committee's remarks and recommendations to ensure assistance is comprehensive and appropriate.
