The Department of Intellectual Property has partnered with Lazada to launch a GI store on Lazada’s platform to expand markets and increase sales. She revealed the expansion of marketing channels for Geographical Indication (GI) products, stating that the department has held discussions with Lazada Thailand to promote GI products in the online market. Lazada is willing to support GI entrepreneurs by allowing them to open stores on Lazada’s platform and provides training to enhance their capabilities in using online marketing tools, including techniques to increase product visibility, content design, and data analytics tools. They also organize promotional campaigns such as creating landing pages to increase consumer visibility of GI products on the platform, live selling events, offering benefits and discount codes, and promoting through social media to expand the consumer base and strengthen GI product brand awareness.

“The department and Lazada will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for long-term cooperation in various dimensions to promote economic value creation through intellectual property. Additionally, discussions have been held to link the Intellectual Property Marketplace (IP Mart) system with Lazada’s system, enabling entrepreneurs with intellectual property to conveniently bring their protected works or products into the online market to foster growth.”

Moreover, both parties will collaborate to more effectively prevent and suppress the sale of counterfeit intellectual property goods on Lazada’s platform.
