Warawut pays respects to the abbot of Wat Phra Loi, supports the 'Last Home' project providing free funeral services for the poor, and discusses economic hardships amid the Middle East conflict.
On 23 May 2026, Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry, along with his team, visited Wat Phra Loi in Rua Yai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Suphanburi Province, to pay respects to Phra Kru Siriratanaphiwat, Ph.D. (Thawee Rattanamethi), the abbot of Wat Phra Loi and deputy provincial monk chief of Suphanburi. On this occasion, a forum was held to discuss ways to develop the area and local economic dimensions, particularly addressing the livelihood and cost-of-living burdens of the people, which have resulted from unrest and conflict in the Middle East region.
Mr. Warawut also supported the 'Last Home, Wat Phra Loi' project, a charitable initiative under the patronage of Phra Kru Siriratanaphiwat and his disciples. The project was established to assist impoverished people, including those who have died without financial means to hold funerals. The temple provides full support at every stage, from offering coffins and arranging transportation for the deceased, to facilitating funeral rites, cremation, and scattering of ashes, all free of charge. Additionally, rice was donated to empower education and support the future of local youth.
At the end of the visit, Phra Kru Siriratanaphiwat presented a revered ancient Buddha statue called 'Phra Phiree Phinas' to the Minister of Industry, to be enshrined and venerated in his office at the Ministry of Industry, bringing auspiciousness to his work.
