Manager change has no effect! A famous Manchester United star is set to leave Old Trafford this month.
The British media outlet Daily Mail reported that Kobbie Menu, midfielder of the "Red Devils" Manchester United, is still considering leaving Old Trafford during the January transfer window despite Michael Carrick recently being appointed interim manager.
The 20-year-old Menu has become surplus to requirements at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim's leadership and has barely had any playing time. This has led him to consider either a loan or permanent transfer this month. However, with Amorim dismissed and Michael Carrick appointed as interim manager, many expect Menu’s future to brighten again.
Nevertheless, the latest reports indicate that Menu’s thinking remains unchanged. He is determined to be part of England’s national team under Thomas Tuchel for the 2026 World Cup and understands that he needs regular playing time to have a chance of selection. Therefore, he wants to move clubs during this winter transfer window for that opportunity.
There are also reports that Menu has a strained relationship with United’s management because he remains one of the lowest-paid first-team members after contract negotiations failed last year.
Napoli, giants of Serie A, are the club interested in signing Menu after having successfully secured Scott McTominay on a permanent deal and Rasmus Højlund on loan from Manchester United previously.
