"Darika," the first to achieve it, opens up after making history as Thailand aims to advance in the 2025 Women's Futsal World Championship.
On 25 Nov 2025, Darika Pienphayalun, the star forward of Thailand's women's futsal team ranked fourth in the world, gave an interview following the second match of Group B in the 2025 Women's Futsal World Championship.
After losing 2-5 to Spain in their first game, Thailand's women's futsal team bounced back to defeat Canada 6-3, with Darika Pienphayalun scoring a hat-trick, and Sangrawi Meekham, Jenjira Bubpha, and Areeya Saetern each adding one goal.
This secured Thailand's first-ever 3 points in the history of their participation in the Women's Futsal World Championship, keeping hopes alive for a quarterfinal spot by competing for second place in Group B against Colombia in the final match.
Darika Pienphayalun, Player of the Match and the first Thai to score a hat-trick in the Women's Futsal World Championship, said, "This game was exciting because the score was close early on. We led but they equalized, which was quite pressuring and made it difficult to play. After adjusting our tactics, we managed to win."
"I felt more confident compared to the first game. We had to admit that Spain has highly skilled individual players, but Canada is bigger in size though not as fast as Spain, so we could compete with them. I'm happy to have scored a hat-trick in the World Futsal, which makes me proud and excited."
"Now the team is more confident after this win, and we're confident we can beat Colombia. I ask all Thai futsal fans to support the women's national futsal team; we will do our best."
In the final match of Group B in the 2025 Women's Futsal World Championship, Thailand will decide its fate against Colombia, ranked 8th in the world, on Friday, 28 Nov 2025 at 17:00 Thailand time.
