On 14 August 2026, Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, spoke with Thairath Sport while cheering on his son "Saendee" Saenpiti Sittipunt at the global fitness competition BYD HYROX Bangkok 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
Chadchart revealed he had considered entering the HYROX competition alongside his son "Saendee," but campaign commitments for the Bangkok governor election held on 28 June prevented him. This time, he could only cheer for his son but plans to compete himself in February 2027 at BITEC Bangna.
He said, "Initially, I wanted to compete alongside him, but due to campaigning, I didn’t have time to train. So I let my son compete solo. It’s good and fun to see people exercising and taking care of their health. It’s a positive trend."
"HYROX is also a good business, attracting people from many countries to Thailand. It should be supported and we’ll see more events in various formats. It’s good."
"(Do you plan to compete yourself?) I might join next February at BITEC, but I need to train first or I’ll embarrass myself. It’s not easy—watching it made me say wow. But it’s good for us; health can’t be bought, so we have to maintain it ourselves. Plus, cheering and joining is fun."
When asked about his son Saendee competing in HYROX, Chadchart said, "He trains hard but still gets tired. I want him to enjoy it, finish strong, compete with himself, and not stress out. Take it easy, step by step."
