ORC Agricultural Drones Collaborate with Nha Lim, Thai Football Fan, to Deploy Large Agricultural Drones Delivering Food in Flooded Songkhla

The "ORC Agricultural Drones" team is working together with "Nha Lim," a Thai football fan, deploying large agricultural drones capable of carrying food loads of up to 100 kilograms to prepare for delivering aid to flood victims in Songkhla Province.

On 25 November 2025 GMT+7, after Songkhla Province was hit by severe flooding, many residents were trapped in their homes; some had not eaten for four consecutive days and had to seek refuge on their rooftops due to the high water levels.

The ORC Agricultural Drones team, experts in agricultural drone operation and instruction, coordinated with Khun Yok from DJI Agriculture Thailand to bring drones to assist flood victims in Songkhla. Meanwhile, “Nha Lim” Virul Wichianwattana, a southern Thai football fan, coordinated with Hia Tao Phet Hat Yai, owner of a well-known computer store in Hat Yai District, to contact Khun Yok from DJI Agriculture Thailand and collaborated with the ORC team to liaise with locals and find ways to reach and help those affected.

The drones used are large agricultural models capable of carrying 100 kilograms of food each. Initially, two drones were deployed, with an additional four to six drones expected to join later.

Opas Khongudomsap, a representative of the ORC Agricultural Drone team, said, “We planned that if we are on a high building where the drones can take off with a radius of about 500 meters left and right, it will make delivering rice, water, and medicine much easier and faster.”

“Since I am unfamiliar with the area, I will first use my drone to survey and capture images in real time. These images will be uploaded to a map program so the field team can immediately see where the drone has flown and whom it has encountered. They can point out locations for us to see, allowing us to accurately control the drone to fly to those spots. Without this system, it would be like flying blind with no knowledge of the area. This system requires internet briefly; I’m not sure if the internet works there, but someone I know who is bedridden said the internet is available, though phone signals are not. However, calls and Line messages work clearly.”

“Currently, two drones have been sent ahead, with four to six more to follow. These large agricultural drones can carry up to 100 kilograms of food because they are specifically designed for agricultural use. Recently, the Civil Aviation Authority announced full permission to use drones for flood relief operations.”

Thairath Sports news team wishes for a swift resolution to the situation and sends support to the flood victims and everyone involved in the relief efforts.
