Harry Kane Speaks Out Amid Complaints About Extreme Heat at 2026 World Cup

England national team striker Harry Kane insists that the hot weather will not be an obstacle for competing in the 2026 World Cup.

On 8 June 2026 GMT+7, Harry Kane, captain of the England national team, confirmed that the hot summer weather in the United States will not affect the team's performance at the 2026 World Cup, noting that thorough preparation has helped players adapt.

Kane made this statement following widespread debate about managing the heat in host cities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, emphasizing that the England team is well-prepared and the weather will not be a deciding factor.

Kane spoke after England's 1-0 friendly win over New Zealand in Tampa, Florida, where temperatures reached 33 degrees Celsius, saying, “To be honest, I don’t think the heat is that bad. Everyone on the team has adapted after the initial training period.”

“Today, it didn’t feel too bad at all. I think this issue might be getting more attention than it actually deserves.”

“Playing for England is what I love most. I feel proud every time I wear the jersey and captain’s armband, and leading the team into another World Cup is an indescribably special feeling.”

England, ranked fourth in the world, will kick off their 2026 World Cup campaign against Croatia on the night of 17 June (early morning 18 June) at 03:00 Thai time.
