
"Kometh and Puttapoom" performed strongly to reach the finals at the Thailand BMX Championship Round 3 in Phichit.
The third round of the Thailand BMX Championship was lively at the Saranchit Mongkolsuk Cycling Track in Phichit. National team cyclists Kometh Sukprasert and Puttapoom Nakpan delivered excellent performances, advancing to the finals as expected. Phichit's governor, Thanaya Naipinit, expressed great satisfaction that the event attracted over 2,000 athletes and supporters, significantly boosting the province's economy.
The Thailand BMX Championship for the Royal Trophy of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for the year 2026, Round 3, took place from 22-23 May at the Saranchit Mongkolsuk Cycling Track (Bueng Sifa), Phichit. The opening ceremony on 22 May was honored by Phichit's Governor Thanaya Naipinit as chairperson, alongside "Sergeant Muak" General Decha Hemkrasri, Deputy Chairman of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, along with Phichit's Deputy Governors Kittipol Vechakul and Thanit Poomthaworn, and various heads of government agencies.
Governor Thanaya Naipinit stated that Phichit was honored by the Cycling Association of Thailand to host the Thailand BMX Championship Round 3 and the first round of the National Kids Balance Bike Championship. This marked the first event since Her Majesty the Queen rode a bicycle at the Saranchit Mongkolsuk Track on 23 March 2024, bringing great joy to the people of Phichit. Both government and private sectors warmly welcomed all visitors to the province. We are ready to be good hosts and hope Phichit will have opportunities to host such competitions again in the future.
"Each event attracts more than 2,000 athletes and supporters to Phichit, greatly stimulating the local economy. Visitors spend on shopping, accommodations at hotels and resorts, and use services at shops and restaurants, increasing business activity. Additionally, OTOP products and local residents benefit from the event. We thank the Cycling Association of Thailand and General Decha Hemkrasri, the association's president," said the governor of Phichit.
On 22 May, the third round of the Thailand BMX Championship held qualifying rounds broadcast live on Facebook Live via Thailand Cycling Association and TCA Channel, as well as YouTube: TCA Channel, with over 10,000 total views. Notable results included the men's public category where "Ae" Sergeant Kometh Sukprasert, a national team cyclist preparing for the 20th Asian Games and two-time gold medalist at the 33rd SEA Games from the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defense, scored first. "Ohm" Puttapoom Nakpan, also a national team cyclist preparing for the Asian Games and two-time silver medalist at the 33rd SEA Games from team C.S.K. Tooling Pathumthani, scored second. Both advanced to the finals.
In the women's public category, "Fah" Sergeant Chutikarn Kitwanitsethiran, a national team cyclist preparing for the 20th Asian Games from the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defense, scored first. "Kwan" Hathaiphet Jaiswang, also a national team cyclist preparing for the Asian Games from the Fisherman Friend Rama 3 team, came in second, both advancing to the finals. Also qualifying were Khemika Srisopa and Nattawan Tasai from the S.R.I. Cycling Team: Ban Dek Ying Saraburi.
In the male youth category, Phumjaithai Nakpan from C.S.K. Tooling Pathumthani advanced to the finals alongside Kantapat Phosi from CK Racing - Ayutthaya Wittayalai School, and Jirayu Phunuch from Project-B, Rajawinit Bangkaew.
In the female youth category, Papada Krongproang from S.R.I. Cycling Team: Ban Dek Ying Saraburi scored first and advanced to the finals with her twin Papichaya Krongproang from the same team, as well as Ladamanee Ruenruay from the Samutprakarn Cycling Association team. The competition schedule for Saturday, 23 May, starts at 09:00 with finals in all categories. The event will be broadcast live on Facebook Live via Thailand Cycling Association and YouTube: TCA Channel, allowing sports fans to watch throughout the competition.
