On 6 Feb 2026, reporters reported from the activity area of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ubon Ratchathani University, Warin Chamrap District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, that Mrs. Suwannee Srisuwan, Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, presided over the opening of the 2026 Southern Isan Agricultural Fair "Transforming Southern Isan Agriculture with Innovation and Technology." She was welcomed by Mr. Phusit Noisophakul, Deputy Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, Associate Professor Dr. Chutinan Prasitpuriprecha, President of Ubon Ratchathani University, and Dr. Narintorn Boonpram, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ubon Ratchathani University.
This event is organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, Ubon Ratchathani University, together with partner networks including government agencies, private sector, local administrative organizations, educational institutions, and various sectors. It aims to disseminate knowledge and advances in agricultural technology and innovation, promote the development of quality of life in rural and urban communities, and foster regional and national economic growth.
The event features diverse agricultural activities that support farmers in improving the quality of their products to higher standards, along with demonstrations and professional skill training to enhance competitiveness. It also supports the promotion of farmers' group activities, community enterprise development, and raises public awareness of agriculture’s importance in national development alongside human resource and knowledge advancement through hands-on practice.
There are exhibitions and contests related to agriculture, including technology for producing economic crops and livestock from both government and private sectors, agricultural machinery, a contest for Ubon Black Beef Cattle, food processing, and sales of ornamental plants and flowers from various farmer groups.
In 2025, this event produced tangible economic and social outcomes, generating over 281 million baht in economic circulation with a total of 465,200 visitors who spent an average of 605 baht each. The event featured participation from no fewer than 41 government agencies, 29 major private sector vendors, and over 291 small businesses. It served as a platform to showcase the work and activities of farmer groups, promote community enterprise development, create economic opportunities, and enhance the agricultural sector’s potential in the region.
