Introduction "Good Soil Card" What it is and the benefits: Farmers holding the card receive continuous advice on proper soil management along with support for agricultural production inputs.
A reporter reported that after Mr. Lawanorn Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, revealed that today the Cabinet approved urgent relief measures proposed by the Ministry of Finance, which must be implemented promptly for the benefit of the public. The measures total seven items, including one to assist the agricultural sector through the Green Flag project supporting fertilizer costs alongside the Good Soil Card to reduce costs for farmers and promote the use of organic or alternative fertilizers to reduce imports.
The Good Soil Card is a soil identity card for farmers' plots issued by the Land Development Department to individual farmers whose soil health has been tested and who have received soil management advice from officials. Farmers with the card can apply the advice continuously provided by officials to improve their land appropriately and promptly according to the planting season, resulting in better and more fertile soil. Additionally, farmers can access soil knowledge in the soil data repository and join the Good Soil Card holders’ network via Facebook pages of land development stations nationwide.
This project was created to honor the auspicious occasion of the Royal Coronation and to help farmers understand their own soil, as well as to access soil management knowledge through the use of the card.
Farmers interested in joining the project can contact officials at any of the 12 regional land development offices, provincial land development stations nationwide, volunteer soil scientists, or inquire by phone at 02-561-4380, 02-561-4382, or via the Land Development Department’s website.
