Opening of the “3 Provinces Ornamental Fish Expo” Aiming to Become a Future Hub

The "3 Provinces Ornamental Fish Expo" opened with the aim of becoming a future center, promoting and enhancing the capabilities of farmers and entrepreneurs, improving production standards, and expanding marketing channels globally.


On 22 May 2026, reports stated that at the Fish Village Ornamental Fish and Pet Market in Ban Pong District, Ratchaburi Province, Mr. Komkrit Charoenpattanasombat, Deputy Governor of Ratchaburi, Mr. Kalawat Sapsongsuk, Deputy Governor of Suphanburi, Mr. Pakin Srisanpang, Managing Director of Sri Ban Pong Market Company Limited, Ms. Veena Srisanpang, Advisor to Sri Muang Market, Mr. Amnat Jeenchao-kham, Ratchaburi Provincial Fisheries Officer, and Ms. Kulthida Phaya, District Chief of Ban Pong, jointly officiated the opening ceremony. The “3 Provinces Ornamental Fish Expo” under the concept “Smart Aquatic Hub 3 Provinces: The Future Ornamental Fish Center”. The event included ornamental fish contests with honorary trophies, exhibitions displaying various species of ornamental aquatic animals, and sales of ornamental fish and farming equipment directly from farmers' farms.

The Fisheries Offices of Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, and Suphanburi provinces collaborated to drive the concept “Smart Aquatic Hub 3 Provinces: The Future Ornamental Fish Center.” This aims to promote and develop the capabilities of farmers and entrepreneurs to apply artificial intelligence (AI) innovations, information technology, and online market systems in farm management and marketing, raising production standards, expanding marketing channels internationally, and ensuring the sustainability of Thailand’s ornamental aquatic animal farming industry.

The event was held from 21 to 24 May 2026 by the Lower Central Region 1 cluster, comprising Ratchaburi, Suphanburi, and Kanchanaburi provinces, which are important national centers for ornamental aquatic animal production and farming.

Currently, there are over 500 farms operated by farmers and entrepreneurs, mostly producing for export abroad, generating economic value for the country of no less than 1 billion baht annually. Notable globally recognized ornamental aquatic animals include Betta fish, goldfish, and carp. Later, Ms. Thitilak Khampha, Governor of Ratchaburi, also visited the ornamental fish exhibits at the event.
