To prepare for the 2026 rainy season, the Royal Irrigation Department of the Ministry of Agriculture is installing water pumps at risk points, accelerating the removal of water hyacinth to enhance water intake and drainage, and deploying drones to spray herbicides.
On 9 June, reporters reported that the Royal Irrigation Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, is preparing for the 2026 rainy season by continuously removing water hyacinth and weeds in water sources to expand water capacity and improve drainage efficiency. They are also installing water pumps at vulnerable locations to handle potentially increased rainfall during the rainy season. Additionally, agricultural drones are being used to spray herbicides with the SWP.62 (RID.1) formula to improve weed control, reduce waterway obstructions, and help maintain water quality suitable for public use.
