Farmers enthusiastically joined the “Thai Green Flag Affordable Plus” project in Nong Bua Lam Phu, registering to buy discounted fertilizer at 300 baht per sack, with a limit of 5 sacks per person, along with additional discounts on agricultural chemicals.
In Nong Bua Lam Phu, farmers eagerly registered to purchase fertilizer discounted by 300 baht per sack under the Thai Green Flag project to reduce production costs. Many said it was a good program that helped lower expenses, though some regretted buying fertilizer earlier and hoped the government would organize it sooner next year.
On 22 June 2026, the Nong Bua Lam Phu Commerce Office, led by Mrs. Kantharat Sarasomluk, the provincial commerce officer, collaborated with partners to launch a major event for farmers under the “Thai Green Flag Affordable Plus” project in Nong Bua Lam Phu. The event was held from 22 to 24 June 2026 at the Agricultural Cooperative for BAAC Customer Marketing (S.K.T.) in Mueang Nong Bua Lam Phu district. Mr. Sethchai Yuttasetsiri, Deputy Governor of Nong Bua Lam Phu, presided over the opening ceremony, joined by government officials, private sector executives, and local farmers registering for the program from early morning.
Several farmers expressed regret that they had already bought fertilizer before learning of this program. They acknowledged it as a good initiative that reduces fertilizer costs but felt it came too late this year and requested it be held earlier next year. Even if they did not buy discounted fertilizer, they were able to purchase pesticides and herbicides at reduced prices, which also helped lower production costs.
Meanwhile, Ruam Kaset Nong Bua Lam Phu, a major fertilizer retailer in the province, shared good news for farmers: fertilizer prices are showing signs of decline. While mixed fertilizer prices have only dropped slightly, urea 46-0-0 prices are expected to fall by about 100-200 baht per sack depending on the company. Clearer price reductions are anticipated by late month or early next month, assuming no renewed conflict between the US and Iran or closure of the Hormuz Strait.
Mr. Sethchai Yuttasetsiri, Deputy Governor of Nong Bua Lam Phu, stated that the government and Ministry of Commerce are concerned about farmers facing rising production costs. The “Green Flag Affordable Plus” project is a proactive measure to cut cost cycles by distributing quality production inputs at fair prices directly to farmers, helping reduce costs, increase yields, and sustainably boost the grassroots economy in Nong Bua Lam Phu.
The event featured booths selling a full range of affordable agricultural products and inputs, including chemical fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural chemicals, and equipment from stores such as Rung Ruang Chai Kaset Naklang, Rak Pong Agriculture, Ruam Kaset Nong Bua, CRC Thai Watsadu Nong Bua Lam Phu branch, and Siam Global House Nong Bua Lam Phu branch. Essential consumer goods were also available at discounted prices from Lotus Nong Bua Lam Phu and Makro Nong Bua Lam Phu branch.
Additionally, the Nong Bua Lam Phu Commerce Office offered special benefits and discounts to farmers who brought their farmer registration booklets (green book) to the event. They received a fertilizer discount of 300 baht per sack, up to 5 sacks per person, plus extra discounts on agricultural chemicals, totaling up to 1,550 baht. Farmers certified under GAP or practicing organic farming received an increased entitlement of up to 6 sacks with a 2,100 baht discount to promote safe, chemical-free agriculture in the area.
The Nong Bua Lam Phu Commerce Office invites farmers and interested citizens to purchase products and reserve discount rights at the event from now until 24 June 2026, from 08:30 to 17:00 daily, at the Agricultural Cooperative for BAAC Customer Marketing (S.K.T.) along route 210 Nong Bua Lam Phu – Naklang, Ban Khuem Chad, Nong Phai Suan Subdistrict, Mueang Nong Bua Lam Phu district, about 9 kilometers from the provincial center.
