Dairy farmers from the cooperative dumped over 40 tons of raw milk after the Dairy Authority refused to buy it, citing internal losses, and urged relevant parties to urgently resolve the issue.
On 6 Jan 2026, at the Thai-Denmark Dairy Cooperative office in Nong Ri, Lam Sonthi district, Lopburi province, dairy farmers gathered to dump raw milk.
Mr. Samran Kangsamrong, chairman of the Thai-Denmark Dairy Cooperative Nong Ri, said the cooperative cannot accept raw milk from over 200 farmers who bring about 60 to 70 tons daily. This is because the Dairy Authority refuses to buy the milk. The cooperative's trucks carrying raw milk to the Dairy Authority cannot unload it since the Dairy Authority rejects the purchase. The trucks have been stuck there since 1 Jan 2026. The Dairy Authority explained internal problems causing losses and lacking funds to buy raw milk or even milk cartons for packaging, severely affecting the cooperative and dairy farmers.
Mr. Samran added that despite this, the cooperative is still trying to buy raw milk from its over 200 members and sell it to other buyers, even at a loss, to relieve farmers' hardship. He appealed to authorities for help, emphasizing that dairy farmers are truly suffering. Tomorrow, cooperative members will also visit the Dairy Authority.
If the Dairy Authority provides any clarification, further updates will be reported.
