The Middle East war has affected the export of Golden Nam Dok Mai mangoes from the Ban Haed Mango Community Enterprise Group in Khon Kaen Province, with over 800,000 mangoes expected to remain unharvested.
At 10:00 a.m. on 10 April 2026, reporters visited the Golden Nam Dok Mai mango orchard owned by Mr. Suthee Thinrat, chairman of the Ban Haed Mango Community Enterprise Group for export in Ban Haed District, Khon Kaen Province. From today, about 40 days remain until the mangoes are ready for harvest to be sorted and sold both domestically and internationally.
Some of the mangoes harvested earlier this month have been sorted and graded individually for appearance at the Ban Haed mango grading facility for export. Customers seeking Golden Nam Dok Mai mangoes came to purchase directly at the facility, including executives and staff from Thailand Post Company Limited, which supports and assists the farmers in transporting mangoes for delivery according to customer orders placed through various Thailand Post branches.
Mr. Suthee Thinrat, chairman of the Ban Haed Mango Community Enterprise Group for export, said this year the Golden Nam Dok Mai mangoes began fruiting from March, with about 100,000 fruits gradually sold through various channels. Entering April, about one million mangoes are ready for harvest, with another 200,000 expected in May. In previous years, the entire harvest was sold domestically and internationally without surplus.
This year, the conflict in the Middle East has caused fuel prices to rise sharply, affecting export companies affiliated with the community enterprise group. Export costs for shipping mangoes overseas have increased, leading to reduced orders and falling mango prices. Combined with a large domestic harvest, prices have dropped by more than half.
Due to this problem, the group is worried that over one million mangoes awaiting harvest in April and May will remain in stock because they cannot be exported and will eventually spoil.
In light of these impacts, the group invites the public to support Golden Nam Dok Mai mangoes and asks government agencies, the private sector, and state enterprises to purchase and promote them. This will help Thai people enjoy quality, affordably priced Ban Haed mangoes, which are certified with the GI standard of Northeastern Thailand.
Those interested in supporting Golden Nam Dok Mai mangoes can contact or order through various channels, including the Ban Haed Mango Community Enterprise Group office for export, located at 208 Moo 3, Ban Nong Tao, Nong Saeng Subdistrict, Ban Haed District, Khon Kaen Province.
