After "Gabrielle Henry" Miss Universe Jamaica 2025 experienced an accident falling off the stage during the Preliminary Competition in Thailand on 19 Nov 2025, officials immediately rushed her to the hospital. Initial reports after the event stated she was safe with minor injuries, which relieved fans of the pageant.
However, recently the Miss Universe organization released their first statement updating her condition.
"The Miss Universe organization and the family of Dr. Gabrielle Henry, Miss Jamaica Universe 2025, wish to provide an update on her injuries and the medical care she is currently receiving.
Dr. Henry suffered serious injuries after falling into an opening on the stage during the preliminary round on 19 Nov 2025, resulting in brain hemorrhage causing unconsciousness, broken bones, facial wounds, and other injuries. She was immediately admitted to an intensive care unit in Bangkok, where she remains in critical condition under continuous specialist medical care and close neurological monitoring.
In the coming days, she will be transferred back to Jamaica under full medical escort and promptly admitted to a hospital there for ongoing treatment and rehabilitation.
Since the incident, the Miss Universe organization has stood by Gabrielle and her family as one, taking full and immediate responsibility. They have covered all medical treatment costs, surgeries, rehabilitation, as well as accommodation and expenses for Dr. Henry’s mother and sister who have been by her side during this difficult time.
The organization also covers the costs for her medical repatriation on a special flight arranged by the hospital and has pledged to bear all subsequent medical expenses related to this incident.
The Henry family deeply appreciates the kindness, dedication, and care shown by the Miss Universe organization. This response reflects the organization's commitment and bond with the family beyond professional duty.
Regarding certain news reports alleging Dr. Henry’s involvement in causing the accident, these claims are entirely false. The Miss Universe organization has never blamed Dr. Henry and confirms these allegations are baseless and untrue.
Dr. Henry and her family sincerely thank the people of Jamaica, the Miss Universe community, and supporters worldwide for their overwhelming love, prayers, and encouragement."
