On 4 Feb 2024, World Cancer Day, the National Cancer Institute joined forces with Miss Earth Thailand to hold a campaign raising cancer awareness through a photo shoot and positive messaging to society. Dr. Sirikan Aonsankran, known as “Dr. Nong,” chairperson and national director of Miss Earth Thailand, collaborated with her daughter Nam Nuea, Miss Earth Fire 2025, to share their family’s story of courage in battling illness.
The event aimed to motivate Thai women to prioritize ongoing health care by getting annual check-ups, monitoring any bodily abnormalities, and regularly undergoing cancer screenings to enable timely prevention or treatment, with special emphasis on breast cancer, which remains one of the most common cancers among Thai women.
Additionally, the project focuses on supporting breast cancer patients to receive continuous treatment while fostering understanding and encouragement for patients and their families so they can face every stage of treatment with strength, aided by societal support and love from those around them.
Miss Earth Thailand, as a platform for environmental and social causes, extends its encouragement to all breast cancer patients to maintain a good quality of life, stay strong in their fight against the disease, and overcome difficult times. The organization also sends wishes to Dr. Sirikan Aonsankran for full recovery, good health, and continued inspiration for Thai society.
