After her mother was labeled and bullied as having a 'ghost face' due to an accident that left a lasting emotional scar for decades, recently her beautiful daughter So Bam Panichda Kongsawornya, Miss Grand Lamphun 2025 and third runner-up of Miss Grand Thailand 2025, managed to turn life around and bring happiness back to Mother Daeng by taking her to have facial reconstructive surgery that made her stunningly beautiful, erasing the stigma she had endured. So Bam was very happy to help her mother overcome the pain and smile again.
So Bam revealed that her mother suffered severe injuries from an accident where glass pierced through her nose into the eye socket, resulting in the loss of vision in one eye. Her face was disfigured, with damage to the right facial structure, causing the eye to be displaced to an abnormal position, compounded by a complicated infection that destroyed tissue structure.
Before the accident, So Bam’s mother was very beautiful, having been a traditional beauty queen and regularly participating in Songkran beauty contests. At that time, So Bam was 3 years old. On the day of the accident, her mother was riding a motorcycle carrying So Bam home from their grandmother’s house when a drunk driver crossed lanes and hit them. Her mother decided to let go of the motorcycle and tried to shield So Bam by embracing her, resulting in serious injuries to her mother who had to be hospitalized in Chiang Mai for four months.
So Bam was teased by friends about her mother’s appearance, being called 'scary' or 'weird face,' and some friends refused to associate with her. Her mother once asked if she was embarrassed by her friends, but So Bam firmly said she was never ashamed because 'I only have one mother in this life.' She decided to enter beauty pageants with the ultimate goal of raising money to fund her mother’s facial surgery to bring her happiness again. Eventually, she won Miss Grand Lamphun 2025 and placed third runner-up in Miss Grand Thailand 2025. Her mother is very proud.
This surgery was not just cosmetic but a reconstruction to restore the damaged facial structure and rebuild her mother’s confidence.
