After the Miss Universe organization's website www.missuniverseorg.com from the MU West side posted an urgent statement regarding the issue that representatives from Miss Universe Thailand were not permitted to attend the National Directors’ Town Hall, including Nawatt Iskrairasil and his team.
It also revealed that the organization's management is considering the participation of Miss Universe Thailand 2026, who is Kanom Tarina Bottes, in the Miss Universe 75th anniversary pageant to be held in Puerto Rico in November 2026.
Recently, the Miss Universe page, with over 14 million followers, posted a statement to respond to the latest statement issued by MU West, containing the following content:
“Statement in response to the latest statement issued by MU West.
MU East acknowledges the latest statement released by MU West, which addressed the organization's website, the National Directors’ Town Hall meeting, and issues concerning MU East's management.
The website www.missuniverse.com has represented the Miss Universe Organization since 1995 and has served as the organization's global digital platform for approximately three decades. In comparison, the website promoted by MU West was only recently established.
Creating a new website and publicly announcing it by either side does not mean that the website replaces the long-standing digital platform used by the organization or automatically grants authority over organizational management.
MU East also strongly objects to personal and derogatory references to Mr. Nawatt Iskrairasil, CEO of MU East, and team members.
Internal organizational conflicts should be professionally managed through appropriate administrative and legal processes, not by attacking individuals via global platforms.
The Miss Universe Organization operates under a 50:50 partnership between MU East and MU West. Therefore, MU West does not have sole authority to speak for, bind, or represent the entire organization.
Thus, statements issued solely by MU West should clearly specify that they represent MU West's position and not the entire Miss Universe Organization.
The Miss Universe platform should not be used to vent personal grievances, settle internal disputes, or attack individuals and countries involved in disagreements.
No party should use this platform as if they have exclusive control over the organization or unlimited authority.
MU East regrets that organizational communication channels have been used to attack MU East's CEO, team members, and countries perceived to support MU East.
Such behavior causes division, undermines the confidence of National Directors and contestants, and may seriously damage the international reputation of the Miss Universe brand.
Miss Universe aims to celebrate and empower women from every country. Therefore, this platform should reflect fairness, equal participation, dignity, mutual respect, and equal opportunity—not serve as a space for personal conflicts or discrimination against any party.
MU East remains firmly committed to the organization's original mission: celebrating women, respecting all participating countries, and protecting the credibility and integrity of the Miss Universe stage for National Directors, contestants, partners, and audiences worldwide.
