Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) held "Bansomdej Festival 2," an annual grand celebration combining fun and entertainment. The event honored Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and commemorated the passing of Somdet Chaopraya Borommahathri Suriyawong (Chuang Bunnag) from 17-19 January 2026 GMT+7 at BSRU. The festival featured a star-studded lineup and a full range of activities in academics, music, sports, and arts, all free to attend throughout the event.
A highlight of the festival was a special football match between the celebrity team "STAR RIDER FC," led by Great Warintorn, Mike Pattaradet, Golf Anuwat, Leesaw Theerathep, Somjit Jongjohor, Jab Penphet, Kik Danai, John Bravo, King Kornbai, Pok Khosawis, Chanon Thipkanok, Keng Chatchawan, and Tan Naphasdon.
They faced the home team, "BANSOMDEJ FC." The opening kick was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Kanokorn Sawangjaroen, President of Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, along with university executives, faculty, staff, and students. The event began with a grand torch relay ceremony.
Both teams entered the field accompanied by children acting as Player Escorts, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere before the match began. Once the game started, excitement erupted amid cheering fans from both sides. The teams alternated offense and defense with full intensity. The final result was STAR RIDER FC claiming their second championship with a 4:3 victory.
The festival was packed with spectacular shows, including concerts by famous artists such as Dang Phankorn, Dome Pakorn Lam, Keng Tachaya, FELLOW FELLOW, and others. There were also cultural performances including Khon dance, traditional drama, and Thai music—rarely seen and a distinctive feature of the institution. The program included memorial song performances and a tribute flag formation, Thai and international music performances, a fashion show showcasing crafts to creative industries, innovation exhibits and key projects from faculties like Engineering, Education, and Management Science, as well as delicious food in the “Street Food Motherland Kitchen” zone.
