Son Yuke quickly addressed the issue on social media after being asked about his voting in the February 8 election. He expressed regret for disappointing many but insisted he intended to vote. However, he was constrained by timing since his overseas trip, booked well in advance, spanned January 31 to February 13, before the parliament was dissolved.
Son explained he tried every possible way to vote early in Thailand or cast a ballot abroad. But since his travel dates overlapped with the election, he could not register under the rules. Nevertheless, he has already notified the Election Commission of his valid reason via the website boraservices.bora.dopa.go.th. He also encouraged others with similar circumstances to report their reasons within the deadline to avoid losing their voting rights in the future.
