Not About Money! Revealing the Real Reason Neng Mengjai Quit Ball Chernyim Before Passing Away

Closing the chapter on a comedian's life struggle! Revisiting his final words. "Neng Mengjai" before peacefully passing away, he opened up about why he resigned. from "Ball Chernyim". Because of family responsibilities, the money earned while working with Ball Chernyim was not an issue. He just had more obligations and wanted to grow and have something of his own. He emphasized that P' Ball was a benefactor who helped him, and NengMengjaishared this story with Goboy on the Livelihood program on Goboy's YouTube channel, recorded on 29 Jan 2026 GMT+7.

During the show, Goboy asked why he left P' Ball Chernyim, and Neng said, "I asked to take a break from work because my responsibilities increased. He has taken care of me all along. I will never forget his kindness. He also helped with the house, signing documents, this and that,I took the papers and submitted them. It wasn't easy; it took almost a year to get approval. This, didn't pass, that, was not suitable. The money in the account came in properly, but there was no clear source. The money with a source lacked proof. I had to find evidence and then ask P' Ball to sign additional papers. He helped fully.

P' Ball is hardworking, loves his team, and cares for me too. Regarding food and living, he eats the same as all the staff. He even works hard to take on jobs. This job, that job. He returns and performs with the troupe for the younger members.

(So, were you feeling hurt?) Not hurt, just that responsibilities increased, so I had to find other work. If this wasn't enough, I had to be straightforward with him. He was okay with it. We talked for a while until I told him I wanted to take a break.

(So, you hinted about this beforehand?) Yes. When I left, I didn’t know where to go,which direction,I had no plan or preparation at all.

(Aren't you afraid it would be difficult after leaving?) It was definitely hard because I had no idea what to do or where to go. I didn't know where I'd end up or what to do first. I stayed almost a week before settling in. After leaving, things improved both financially and in other ways. Like this, it gradually got better to a certain level.

(I don’t understand “better” since with P’ Ball it was good as he supported you in everything, but did expenses increase due to family?) Yes, because of family. (Direct question: Did your wife have any part in the decision to leave?) She didn’t know anything. I just told her I was leaving, and she was surprised and asked why. I wanted to grow and have something of my own, so I asked for a break.

(Was it because of your alcohol problem?)No. They knew I drank. They didn’t forbid me but just told me to take it easy. Drinkers will be drinkers. (Do you know they worried about you?) Yes, everyone worries about me—P’ Tak, P’ Nui, P’ Louis, P’ Jazz Jang.(Before leaving, did you talk to the seniors like P’ Nui, Jazz, or Louis about this?) I briefly talked with P’ Nui. She asked if I was serious and told me to think carefully, but I hadn’t thought much and just asked for a break and then left.

(How hard was it to tell P’ Ball? How did you prepare to talk to him?) It was a little difficult, but when the time came, I had to talk.I didn’t have financial problems or ask for more money. I was satisfied with what I earned, but if I needed more, I preferred to find it myself. Rather than asking for more work, I thought it better to leave.(What about your share of performance fees?) I got a share, paid monthly, about twice a month. Concert payments were immediate after shows, but that ended.

(But you seem busy with many jobs since Ball’s concerts are daily.) It wasn’t enough. It barely covered monthly expenses, like house bills, supporting my parents, and two kids. Currently, I have film roles, product reviews, am taking on amulet center work, and have more jobs. Income may not be steady but is increasing. I feel I made the right choice leaving to find my own work. . Watch the clip
