"The first signs came after returning from filming a Chinese movie: yellow eyes, dull abdominal pain. I went to the hospital.I got a jackpot diagnosis. It was a blow. I had to cancel all my overseas filming work.Everything was canceled. The doctors told me it wasmalignant tissuein the bile duct. They said it was stage 3, requiring urgent surgery. Twenty-six areas of my body were involved. Recovery would take over a year. I didn’t tell anyone. I believed I could fight it. I had tofollow upwith the doctors. There’s no malignant tissue now, but I have tomonitormy blood system. Currently, I’m doing physical therapy. The most important thing is my mindset. I draw strength from my children, family, friends, and crew. We have to stand strong and come back. No one expected this to happen here. It was a shock. I calmed myself, fought it, kept a positive mindset, trusted the medical team, and also ordained as a monk. I received encouragement from spiritual teachersand mentors, which helped keep my mindfocused and notscattered. I’m now gathering my team and planning future projects that will definitely be exciting. My old life is gone; whatever was bad has passed. I consider this a rebirth."
