Many people flocked to comment their congratulations when Annie Brook posted a touching photo and caption about her beloved son, Teekayu, who competed in an international stock trading contest and won a trophy. She shared the story in writing as follows:
“He was the only participant from Thailand, representing the International Christian Demonstration School Nonthaburi (ICSN), competing in the Wolves of Wall Street stock trading event organized by Harvard Student Agency in collaboration with Learn with Leaders. The competition lasted 10 weeks and allowed both team and solo participation. He invited friends to join but no one was interested. I told him, ‘Go solo if you want.’ It’s okay if you don’t win, because financial knowledge and wealth can only be taught by those who know and have it. I can’t teach you that. Go fight and learn. Let’s go.”
The challenge was that two weeks into trading, a war broke out. All trading was based on real Wall Street situations, making it very intense and tough, involving buying and selling data and moments of self-restraint. It was all very fresh and started from zero. He barely slept for 10 brutal weeks. In the end... he made it.”
