Tao Setthapong Shares Experience of Superstition Rituals, Emphasizes No Inappropriate Ceremonies and Warns to Stay Mindful

The issue remains one of great public interest regarding reports about a famous monk accused of sexual misconduct under the pretext of karmic cleansing. Sexual abuse allegations have surfaced. This has caused many people to feel uncertain and reluctant to visit temples for merit-making as they did before.

Recently, young actor "Tao Setthapong" shared his thoughts on the matter and recounted his own experiences related to beliefs and superstition rituals. Tao revealed that before entering the entertainment industry, during his time before competing on AF, his family often took him to pay respects at temples and make merit, following common beliefs. During that period, he was advised to perform a superstition ritual called "mole cauterization" to remove what was believed to be an unlucky mark that could block his fortune or luck.

He admitted that at the time, he did it for peace of mind and viewed it as a personal belief. He emphasized that he never encountered any ceremony or incident involving sexual misconduct like those in the news and considered himself lucky to have avoided such events.

Regarding the current news, have you ever performed karmic cleansing?

Yes, I have done karmic cleansing, like before entering the AF house, relying on sacred things, spiritual beliefs. My family took me to perform various rituals, including mole cauterization and scraping on the body, as a personal belief. I remember it was only once before entering the AF house.

Do you believe 100%?

Do I believe 100%? Not entirely. My parents took me, so I went. I heard about it from friends. But after seeing the recent news, that kind of sexual misconduct is unacceptable. It’s outright rape and assault.

Any warnings for believers?

People should be very careful. If anyone asks you to do something strange or you feel it's not right or you are being harassed, do not comply. Sometimes, the situation is manipulated with others encouraging it. You must stay mindful and immediately report anything inappropriate.

Tao also left a final reminder for those who have faith in merit-making or rituals not to believe anyone easily. If you encounter unusual or suspicious behavior, question it first. Most importantly, use mindfulness and discernment in your decisions.
