Fans expressed their regret when James Ruangsak announced that the music video for his latest album would be his final time starring as the lead actor in his own videos. He admitted with good humor that the decision was due to aging but affirmed he will continue making music and aims to sing until age 90.
Recently, James Ruangsak opened up to Thairath Entertainment, confirming the decision is real and came after he seriously returned to producing a new album after 18 years.
He revealed that for this new album, he took charge of nearly every step—writing songs, developing the concept, and starring in the music video himself—before joking that despite doing everything, he “doesn’t want to see himself” anymore.
After releasing the first single, he received encouraging support from longtime fans, which motivated him to continue creating new music.
He also shared that his goal is to produce music across all eras because he doesn’t want to be known just as a '90s singer' but as an artist with fresh work for fans to follow. He aims to sing until age 90, as singing is in his blood and he believes a singer’s career never truly retires.
Regarding his decision to stop starring in his own music videos, he acknowledged accepting life’s realities as he ages and wants to shift from on-camera performances to expressing stories and work through his songs instead. Though fans won’t see him in videos anymore, they can still enjoy new music from James Ruangsak for many years to come.
