"Mai Davika" came forward to share her own health story after discovering she had high blood fat levels. Many might think that those who are slim, slender, and well-groomed would not face blood fat problems, but Mai became another example warning that outward appearance may not always reflect internal health.
Mai explained that her annual health checkup showed her LDL, or “bad cholesterol,” was at a high level, nearly reaching the threshold where her doctor might recommend medication to control it.
After learning the results, she didn’t ignore it but chose to follow her doctor’s advice by focusing more on exercise and diet to try to control her blood fat within a healthy range.
“That day during my live stream, I complained because I had my annual health checkup at home. One surprising thing for many is that my bad cholesterol was very high. It was close to the point where I might need to take cholesterol-lowering medication. But the doctor said, since I’m still young, to try adjusting my diet first.”
Mai felt this was very relevant because she has close family members with clogged arteries due to fat blockage. She wanted to tell thin people that being slim or very small doesn’t mean you don’t have cholesterol issues. It’s a warning to her fans. During her live stream, she advised fans to get checked, especially using MRI scans on neck blood vessels to see if there’s any calcification or buildup. Annual health checkups are essential. We weren’t always taught how necessary they are, but now Mai feels they are vital at every age.
The treatment approach is to follow the doctor’s advice by adjusting diet and exercising regularly.
“I’m exercising and don’t need medication yet. I still eat junk food but less than before. When I say I eat it, people don’t believe me, but I do. I want everyone to take better care of their health.”
Additionally, Mai is more concerned about her mother’s health, as her mother also has high blood fat and currently takes medication. Mai is determined to help care for her mother’s health more closely.
