With the power of faith Lam Young Nong Hin Hao joined in creating the song “Hun Phayon Don Jai (Barami Wat Nuea)” as a personal devotional offering to the temple, opening up about the previous drama that caused some people to lose faith in temples. She firmly states that belief is a personal matter. She personally has faith because she sees temples as a spiritual anchor.
Recently, she took part in producing a devotional song titled “Hun Phayon Don Jai (Barami Wat Nuea),” a collaboration with several artists and songwriters. The song's content revolves around beliefs and the spiritual power (Barami) of Hun Phayon, including the faith in consecration rituals serving as spiritual support. Some devotees believe these can protect, change one’s fate, and bring success to worshippers.
When the mor lam singer was asked about opinions relating to prior controversies involving monks that became major news multiple times and led some people to lose faith and avoid temple visits or merit-making,
she views this as an individual matter where each person can choose their belief according to their own comfort.
“Regarding merit-making, I still have faith because Buddhism is the spiritual foundation for all Thai people. We don’t have to overthink it. If we do good and receive good, we continue doing it. As for temples, if we see a temple isn’t commercializing Buddhism, we go and make merit. That’s what Lam Young does now. I feel they don’t talk about money or gold, so we participate. As for those who create drama about religion, we can’t stop people’s thoughts; that’s a personal matter.”
