The issue of celebrities donating money continues to attract attention. Recently, leading actor Nadech Kugimiya revealed he has been following the case involving Boom Panadda, acknowledging it as major news awaiting a summary. He shared his personal approach to merit-making, stating he has never donated through Boom's Good Deeds organization but prefers to give to temples he reveres or through trusted individuals and reputable agencies.
Regarding donations, Nadech disclosed that he has never contributed via Boom Panadda's Good Deeds organization or foundation. Instead, he chooses to make merit directly with temples he trusts and donates through familiar and reliable people.
He gave an example of a previous donation to buy medical equipment for Khon Kaen Hospital. Since he has a friend who is a doctor there, he could see that the friend used the money to purchase medical equipment, assuring him that the funds were used as intended.
"Normally, I make merit at temples and with monks, and I also donate. Mostly, I donate myself and transfer funds directly. I make merit with foundations, temples, and various causes involving people and children. I believe that when we make merit or donate, there is a feeling of wanting to give, and we are ready to do so."
"Please don’t lose faith in merit-making or donating. There are many organizations, both public and private. Just do it. I believe that whenever we give to others, whether a small or large group, we receive happiness in return."
He affirmed that he has not lost faith in making merit, viewing giving as dependent on intention. Regardless of the amount given, happiness lies with the giver, and what happens afterward is beyond our control.
