First Trailer of E-Lae Airy Korea Oppa Hits Over 12 Million Views

“E-Lae Airy Korea Oppa” is a film that has attracted considerable attention from movie fans. Inspired by the life of an ordinary woman from Isan, whose need to make a living forced her to migrate all the way to Korea, it is the first production from Ponglangsaon Film, directed by legendary artist Eed Ponglangsaon. Just weeks after releasing the first trailer, it has amassed over 12 million views across all platforms.

Recently, “E-Lae Airy Korea Oppa” unveiled its main poster showcasing the lead cast: Snack Atcharee Srisuk, Miss Grand Loei 2023; famous Korean influencer Il Hongmin; comedic influencer Mamoung Sitthidej Bummanee; superstar comedian Mam Jokmok; Pear Praephet Udompornsart; and Lala Kwannapha Ruangsri.

“E-Lae Airy Korea Oppa” tells the story of Pui (played by Snack Atcharee), a female truck singer and family pillar whose life unravels after being kicked out of her band, dumped by her boyfriend, and drowning in debt. She decides to travel to Korea with her best friend Lisa (played by Mamoung Sitthidej) to find a way out. Pui struggles through hard work day and night to repay her family’s debts. Along her difficult journey, in loneliness, she meets a handsome Korean customer named Hong (Il Hongmin). His smile and kindness give her the strength to keep fighting. But fate plays another trick when both Pui and Hong face unavoidable truths. Ultimately, Hong must choose between "duty" and "heart." What will he decide?

Director Eed Ponglangsaon shared about casting: “The lead actor had to be Korean because if we used a Thai actor, people wouldn’t believe it. Initially, Hong didn’t want to act, so I invited him to talk at my restaurant. He probably saw our sincerity and decided to join. We chose Snack for the lead role because the character had to be a simple, talented singer and dancer. Before filming, I gave Hong and Snack homework and held a read-through so they could understand their roles deeply. Once on set, Hong fully embodied his character. His role closely resembles his real life, and I hope his fans will see a new side of him. For Snack, being Miss Grand, we wanted to bring out her rustic charm. She did very well.”

“Mamoung plays Lisa, who I had act as herself because the friend character is loyal and fun, always supporting her friends. He did a great job. Pear plays the Korean wife of Mam Jokmok’s character. Pear actually works behind the scenes in Korea, but we thought she was beautiful and bold, fitting the role, so we gave her a chance to act and she did well. Mam Jokmok adds color to the film; we thank him for participating as he is very experienced in films. Also joining are Ble Patumrach, Kong Huayrai, and famous influencer Khamnaem in supporting roles,” Eed Ponglangsaon added.

Prepare to enjoy the fun of “E-Lae Airy Korea Oppa” together on 26 March at a cinema near you.
