Get ready to plunge into a toxic epic love story with five character posters from the film. "In The Name of Love" (Atsajan Wan Thong). This is the first film production from Black Dragon Entertainment, bringing together a famous cast to make a new historical mark for "Nang Wan Thong." Starring Ink Waruntorn, Mark Prin, and Gulf Kanawut, alongside Primmy Wiphawee and Fei Phat, the film is scheduled for release on 3 Sep 2024 GMT+7 in theaters. The released posters reveal the beauty of the characters set against the backdrop of mural paintings from Wat Pa Lelai Worawihan, which narrate the love story of Wan Thong, Khun Phaen, and Khun Chang. All five posters also reveal each character's definition of "true love."
"In The Name of Love" Julian Jong, CEO of Black Dragon Entertainment Co., Ltd., who previously served as producer for the global film and series Snowpiercer, takes on the producer role. The film is directed by Muk Piyakan Butprasert, known for "Long Live Love!" Muk spoke about casting, saying, "We saw the mural paintings at Wat Pa Lelai Worawihan by artist Muangsing Chanchaia, and it reminded us of Ink Waruntorn. We contacted him to audition for a key execution scene. It was strange that when he delivered the monologue, his words matched our feelings exactly, and we were shocked he could cry on his first try. We believe the script also chooses the actor."
"For the roles of Khun Phaen and Khun Chang, we intentionally designed very different characters. Khun Phaen is strong and very masculine, while Khun Chang is gentle, a close friend of Wan Thong, who understands women. Putting these two together highlights their character differences. When we contacted Mark to play Khun Phaen, we wanted a very Thai man. Having seen his interview where he read Phet Phra Uma and showed interest in Thai literature, we sent him the script, and he ultimately said yes. Gulf plays Khun Chang and is very talented. During his four-hour audition, he was very dedicated and made our hearts race. For the character Sai Thong, we aimed for a multi-dimensional persona with the fantasy of a male writer of that era, looking for a woman with strong sex appeal, which was Primmy. Fei plays Jan Son, who adds comedic spice. We developed this role with Fei; Jan Son is interpreted as a progressive man born in the wrong era, succeeding in his own way within the context of Ayutthaya-era bandits."
