In 2025, the Thai film industry remained lively with 53 films released. Four films exceeded 100 million baht in worldwide revenue: The Red Envelope, Death Whisperer 3, 4 Tigers, and Our House. Notably, Death Whisperer 3 earned over 400 million baht. Recently, the Federation of National Film Associations held a press conference for the "34th National Film Suphanahong Awards 2025" at SF World Cinema, CentralWorld shopping mall. The event was honored by the Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture (MoC). Attendees included Thanakorn Pulivekin, Chairman of the Federation; Prartana Sinthunava, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Cultural Promotion, MoC; Pornchai Wongsriudomphon, Secretary of the Federation; Chalermpong Ruan Yen, Director of the Creative Cultural Industry Promotion Group 2; Paris Guntepa, Acting Director of the Cultural and Creative Economy Development Group, Ministry of Culture Secretariat; Nattapon Na Songkhla, Director of Cultural Diplomacy Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Suthathip Lapsombat, Director of Value Development and Strategic Communication, Safe and Creative Media Development Fund; and Suwannee Chinchiewchan, Chief Operating Officer, SF Corporation. The event introduced this year’s concept, “ALCHEMY OF LIGHT – Where Light, Sound and Soul Become Cinema,” symbolizing the filmmaking process as alchemy combining light, sound, and the creator’s inspired spirit into an unforgettable cinematic art. Representatives from the organizing committee and juries, including Thananchanok Suban Na Ayutthaya, Patipan Bundrik, Sai Charoenpura, and Wirat Hengkongdee, discussed selection criteria for this year’s films.
At the 34th Suphanahong Awards press conference for 2025, nominees were announced across 17 categories. Additionally, three special awards will be presented: the Federation’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Best Cultural Promotion Film, and Highest-Grossing Thai Film of 2025 based on box office revenue.
