This marks another significant moment for the Thai film industry following the film "Bua" (Bua) produced by Chaiyasang Adventure, Kongkiat Production, and North Star Production, which was selected for the Vision – Asia section and screened at the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
Recently, executives along with directors, actors, and the production team from Thailand, led by Chaiwat Mingmai, CEO of Chaiyasang Adventure, together with Khom Kongkiat Khomsiri, Piyalak Mahathanathap, two directors, Sai Intira Charoenpura, Pensiri Klangsurin, and actor representative Jory Orpreeya, were honored to walk the red carpet and bring Thai cinema stories to the international film stage in Busan, South Korea.
The selection of "Bua" for Vision – Asia reflects the strength of Thai film work to connect with audiences amid the diversity of contemporary Asian cinema. A key moment at the festival was the Guest Visit after "Bua"’s screening, allowing the audience to get closer to the film’s world through the voices of its creators. Sai Intira Charoenpura, Pensiri Klangsurin, Khom Kongkiat Khomsiri, and Piyalak Mahathanathap shared insights behind the scenes, fostering a close dialogue between the filmmakers and the audience.
From its beginnings in Thailand to its journey to Busan, South Korea, "Bua"’s progress is powered by the collaboration between Chaiyasang Adventure, Kongkiat Production, and North Star Production. This partnership drives and promotes Thai cinema further, opening opportunities for talented Thai filmmakers to connect with audiences, partners, and the international film industry.
