New Year, New Love: KL Ft. DAWs Single Expressing Loneliness Across the Year-End

"New Year, New Love (31DEC)" is the latest single from KL (KAILILZ) (also known as Book Traiphop Kejarusawan). After previously releasing familiar tracks such as "Kreed Mun Oma," "Sad in Heart," "Khun Sai," and "Want to Be the Reason You Come Back," he now presents an easy-listening pop-rock song about the loneliness experienced by those counting down New Year's Eve alone amid a city-wide celebration. The music video features the talented actress Noon Sutthipha Kongnaodee, who helps convey this story.

The song's lyrics describe December 31, a day that should be special for many but instead feels ordinary. After promises to countdown into the new year together fail to materialize, only the question remains: "Why am I the one who has to countdown alone?"

"New Year, New Love (31DEC)" also features DAW, an artist from Warm Light label known for hits like "Chop Ton Klang Kuen," "Eh," and "Ja Rip Pai Nai," who brings the perspective of someone still secretly hoping to find a person who understands and values them. Meanwhile, the skilled producer Zol handled production and co-composed the melody, enriching the song's musical depth and emotional resonance.

The music video for "New Year, New Love (31DEC)" tells the story through Noon Sutthipha Kongnaodee's portrayal of a woman who chooses to stay inside her home, haunted by memories of a past love still lingering in her heart. Each time she steps outside, images of couples reinforce her loneliness and growing sadness, which gradually eats away at her until the year's final night. Although she realizes it is time to move on and start anew, she ultimately cannot overcome her old memories.

A special feature of this music video is the appearance of "Barney," Noon's beloved dog, who helps convey the story and add a small warmth amid the atmosphere of loneliness, making the video more emotionally accessible to viewers.

As the New Year approaches, for those who will be single across the year-end or spending the countdown alone, "New Year, New Love (31DEC)" is KL's gift to keep them company. It is now available on all streaming platforms.
