The recent election for the Subdistrict Administrative Organization has become widely discussed, with one of the candidates being the famous luk thung singer, Ying Lee Srijumpol. It turned out that in this election, Ying Lee lost by 14 votes.
Ying Lee shared news with the people of Ban Khu Subdistrict, saying that in yesterday's election for the Ban Khu Subdistrict Administrative Organization, she lost by 14 votes to the main candidate from Buriram. Out of a total of 3,590 votes, she reflected all night on what to do next, considering whether to request a ballot recount, as some supporters, both near and far, wanted her to ask for it and urged her not to decide yet.
She thought deeply about whether to petition Buriram's Election Commission to open the ballot boxes but feared it would take too long and cause confusion in administration. After consulting with others, she announced that she wished to relinquish these 14 votes to the winner so that they could work swiftly for the development of Ban Khu’s residents. She noted that if she requested a recount, it might delay progress or lead to disputes and possibly a new election, causing further trouble. Therefore, she asked that these 14 votes remain a memory for her and expressed sincere thanks.
She thanked everyone who voted, both near and far, and apologized if she did not fulfill everyone’s hopes. She urged the community to rely on their leader going forward. Ying Lee hopes for development in all aspects of the community and now asks the elected official to help oppose the sugar factory planned to be built in the area within the next eight months. If opposition fails, a large sugar factory will be established. Ying Lee said she has done her best for everyone and expressed love and respect for all.
