EXOs Triumphant Return with 8th Full Album ‘REVERXE’

The kings of K-pop, EXO, have returned to the throne with their 8th full album ‘REVERXE’, generating excitement among fans worldwide. This work invites everyone once again into EXO’s distinctive worldview, which has greatly popularized K-pop’s conceptual storytelling. It is their first new full album in 2 years and 6 months since the release of their 7th full album ‘EXIST’ in July 2023.

Starting with the album’s title, which catches attention through EXO’s unique style, ‘REVERXE’ reinterprets the English word 'Reverse'—meaning to turn back—drawing from EXO’s conceptual story. It conveys the idea that 'a new world has opened again.' The 8th full album ‘REVERXE’ features a diverse collection of 9 songs. Among them is the title track ‘Crown’, a hard dance song that breaks genre boundaries by blending Atlanta-style trap drums, heavy metal guitars, and EDM synths seamlessly. It intensifies the mood with siren sound effects and powerful vocals from the members. This song honors important figures, with lyrics inspired by the 'crown,' metaphorically comparing cherished things to the crown that many desire, representing the determination to protect them with everything one has—conveying EXO’s confidence and sincerity to listeners.

Previously, EXO teased this song at their year-end fan meeting, revealing that the title track would be performed in the SMP (SM Music Performance) style. The choreography for ‘Crown’ was created by Jrick and Bada Lee, focusing on powerful dance moves to showcase EXO’s identity.

Returning as a united team, they captivate all eyes by presenting each member’s unique traits. They perform alongside eight dancers and incorporate various three-dimensional symbols from EXO’s worldview, including key dance moves that align with the lyrics—such as the gesture where members place a crown on their heads.

Moreover, the 8th full album ‘REVERXE’ includes widely talked-about new songs such as the warm winter track ‘I’m Home’, performed at last year’s year-end fan meeting; ‘Back It Up’, which surprised audiences with a strong performance at ‘MMA 2025’; and the dance track ‘Crazy’, expressing the near madness of being trapped in love. Also featured is ‘Suffocate’, conveying the pain of breakup through smooth rhythms; the pop-R&B song ‘Moonlight Shadows’, depicting a romantic scene of shadows touching under moonlight; and the fun R&B track ‘Back Pocket’, expressing the desire to be close to an attractive person.

Additionally, the album includes the pop track with a catchy beat ‘Touch & Go’, comparing a wavering heart to falling dominoes, and the mid-tempo pop song ‘Flatline’, which likens life to sailing a boat.
