The global EDM community is paying close attention as Honey Gee, the only female Thai DJ, prepares to make history by performing at Tomorrowland Belgium 2026, the world’s top EDM festival, held in Belgium from 8–12 June 2026 GMT+7. She will elevate Thai identity internationally through contemporary Thai traditional fashion under the concept “WEAR THE SOUL OF SIAM WITH PRIDE,” embodying the spirit of Siam with pride. The costumes are specially designed by award-winning Thai designer Kai Ugas, with support and promotion from Madam Oh – Nalaporn Chayanin. This is not just a music show but a proud, strong, and powerful declaration of Thai talent on the world stage.
Three strong women from different fields but with a shared goal have united: Honey Gee, Madam Oh, and Kai Ugas. Their collaboration blends music, fashion, and Thai culture into the special project “Thai Identity in a Global Context,” ready to captivate audiences worldwide.
On 24 January at TRIBE Sky Beach Club, Emsphere, the three key figures behind this important project—Honey Gee, Madam Oh – Nalaporn Chayanin, and legendary designer Kai Ugas—revealed insights into their work and vision to bring contemporary Thai identity to the global stage.
After 15 years on the DJ path, Honey Gee, currently ranked among the Top 79 DJs worldwide (Top100 Djanemag) and boasting a loyal European fanbase, shared her feelings: “Tomorrowland is the ultimate dream for every DJ. I have waited 15 years for this moment. Performing there and presenting Thai culture is the pinnacle of my life.” She also spoke about the challenges for female DJs in a male-dominated industry: “I moved to Germany in 2020, and the COVID period marked the start of my European tours. It requires time, patience, and faith. Fans always remember my Thai smile when I go on stage. I say ‘Sawasdee ka’ and ‘Thank you’ because I want the world to know Thais have international-level talent.” When the music is powerful, the fashion must be “Man Strong.” The excitement grew knowing Kai Ugas would design the costume.
“Honey wanted a look that is cool, strong, and powerful (‘Man Strong’) to match the intense music. Kai is a designer known for free thinking, modernity, and daring to break the mold. This collaboration perfectly blends music, fashion, and Thai culture.”
Madam Oh – Nalaporn Chayanin, the main supporter of the project, said, “I see Honey Gee’s talent; she is a quality artist. Reaching this level requires skill and talent. At every stage, she waves the Thai flag. I wanted to support her desire to showcase Thai fabrics and Siamese art on the world stage, so I connected directly with Kai Ugas. At this moment, only Kai could design the outfit for Honey to proudly wave the Thai flag in Belgium. That day will be unforgettable and legendary.”
Kai Ugas shared a new definition of Thai fabric and his design concept: “I approached this as designing for a world-class artist, under the concept ‘Wear the Soul of Siam with Pride.’ Thai fabric will no longer be confined to being seen as old-fashioned or outdated but will embody fierceness, coolness, and an international vibe throughout Honey Gee’s performance on the world stage.” Beyond music and fashion, this is the power of Thai people on the global stage. The collaboration of these three is more than a show; it is a message to the world that “Thai people are equal to any nation.”
