Shakira and Burna Boy Release Dai Dai as Official Song for FIFA World Cup 2026

Shakira, a GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® award-winning artist, along with Burna Boy, have released the new song “Dai Dai,” the official anthem for the FIFA World Cup 2026 under Sony Music Latin.

Additionally, Shakira is set to headline the Halftime Show of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final on Sunday, 19 Jul 2026 GMT+7, alongside Madonna and BTS. This marks the first time in World Cup history that the final’s Halftime Show will feature multiple global artists, supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

Announced at the Global Citizen NOW event in New York City, the song “Dai Dai” will be the official anthem for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million by the end of the 2026 World Cup to support education and sports access for children worldwide.

Shakira is collaborating with Global Citizen and FIFA to expand educational opportunities for children in underserved communities. All royalties from “Dai Dai” will be donated to this fund, with Sony Music contributing the first $250,000 raised. Additionally, Shakira will donate $1 from every ticket sold on her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” tour to this education fund.

Burna Boy stated, “The World Cup is one of the few events that people around the world experience together. Football and music speak the same language; they connect people no matter where you come from. Being part of this moment through music means a lot to me.”

This summer, Shakira will embark on a special limited U.S. concert tour as part of her highly successful “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.” The arena-style shows will offer fans an intimate experience of her spectacular production. Tickets are available through the Shakira Official Website.

In October, Shakira will perform an 11-show stadium residency in Madrid, creating a specially designed venue called “Shakira Stadium” for the event. Tickets have already sold over 500,000 seats.

Earlier in May, Shakira impressed over 2 million fans on Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach with her annual “Todo Mundo No Rio” concert. This marked a grand return to Brazil, the country where she launched her international touring career.

Throughout the show, Shakira engaged the audience in Portuguese and performed hits including “Hips Don't Lie,” “La Tortura,” and “La Bicicleta.” The historic event celebrated Brazilian culture with guest appearances by Anitta performing the new song “Choka Choka,” Caetano Veloso on “O Leãozinho,” Maria Bethânia and Unidos da Tijuca on “O Que É, O Que É,” Mare Dance troupe in “Waka Waka,” and Ivete Sangalo on “País Tropical.”

“Todo Mundo No Rio,” dubbed the “largest concert in the world,” is a major Rio de Janeiro event celebrating music, culture, and community. It was free to attend and broke records with over 2 million attendees, becoming one of the highest-attended concerts ever.

Shakira’s performance also generated significant economic impact for the city, estimated at over $800 million in economic value and a 123% increase in travel bookings.

Recently, Zara Larsson invited Shakira to collaborate on the song “Eurosummer,” featured on the deluxe edition of the album “Midnight Sun: Girls Trip.”

Meanwhile, Billboard has recognized Shakira as the top-grossing Hispanic artist tour ever with her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour,” which earned $421.6 million from 82 stadium shows across the U.S. and Latin America, attracting over 3.3 million attendees.

For Burna Boy, this collaboration marks a significant global milestone in his career, blending music, sports, and culture in a distinctive way.

He is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential African artists today, known for his powerful live performances, diverse musical styles, and pivotal role in promoting African music and culture on the global stage—from arenas and stadiums to major events like the NBA All-Star Game. His ongoing collaborations bridging music and sports continue to redefine the image of the African artist worldwide.

Currently, Burna Boy is on a major international tour, reinforcing his status as one of the most influential live performers and cultural voices in the contemporary global music scene.
