Ben revealed behind-the-scenes details: “The song "Spotlight" is one I intentionally crafted to reflect current social issues. Nowadays, everyone has social media at their fingertips, and many seek their own space, chasing fame and fortune. They want their own “Spotlight” so badly that sometimes they step on others and sacrifice their personal lives and happiness just for content. We liken the “Spotlight” to a bonfire that lures small insects to fly into it. To me, the definition of 'Spotlight' is being 'Ben Chalathit' and being 100% myself in the place where I belong, without chasing anyone else's light. Manyx Boy produced this song for me again. It’s a Pop Dance track with a fun beat that everyone can groove to.”
Since this song was made especially to celebrate Pride Month, the music video features special appearances by leading Drag Queens to add vibrant energy. When they perform on stage under the spotlight, they go all out to entertain everyone. We filmed at The Stranger Bar (House of Drag Queens). The atmosphere on set was full of energy, with everyone fully styled—hair, makeup, costumes—with no one giving in. Once the spotlight hit, each person's inner star shined brilliantly.
