MARK TUAN, the global artist, returns with his new single “Alone,” his first work of 2026. This release marks a new chapter in his artistic journey following his EP Silhouette, which revealed Mark’s genuine and unembellished self.
The single “Alone” invites listeners to delve into deeper emotions, expressing feelings experienced when everything quiets down—such as overthinking, loneliness, restlessness, and the shifting emotions that arise when alone with oneself.
Throughout the past year, Mark has been dedicated to continuously developing himself and his musical skills. He has intentionally pushed his musical boundaries by stepping out of familiar territory and experimenting with storytelling from a more intimate and emotionally rich perspective. In his search for artistic identity, he has taken time to refine and evolve his musical direction so each song grows naturally, with clear purpose and emotional depth.
Musically, “Alone” represents a significant step for Mark with its ethereal R&B sound and immersive atmosphere. The track combines complex harmonies and emotionally charged melodies that clearly convey his new musical style. The carefully crafted vocal details and layered soundscapes reflect the complexity of emotions and thoughts experienced in moments of solitude.
Behind the creation of this song, Mark collaborated with acclaimed singer-songwriter Tone Stith, an artist he has long admired both for songwriting and vocal style. The production was handled by Peyote, a producer known for work on Doechii’s album Alligator Bites Never Heal, which inspired Mark as he shaped the direction of this new project.
“Alone” explores the conflict between trying to escape feelings and confronting loneliness—whether driving at night or wrestling with recurring thoughts. The song expresses the struggle of escaping one’s own mind while seeking comfort and connection with someone else. Mark Tuan Mark Tuan is a global artist and member of the group GOT7, who debuted in 2014. He built his reputation as a rapper, singer, dancer, and songwriter. After returning to Los Angeles in 2021, he launched his solo career and expanded his audience internationally.
Since then, Mark has accumulated over 387 million streams worldwide and has released full albums, mini-albums, and digital singles consistently. His 2022 album the other side featured the single “Last Breath,” which topped iTunes charts in over 25 countries and peaked at number 11 on Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart. He also contributed to the soundtrack of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings alongside artist BIBI. Building on this success, Mark held his first solo tour, selling out shows across North America, South America, and Asia, underscoring his global appeal and ability to draw audiences.
