This album perfectly weaves the story of first love through its trailer, teaser images, and overall promotion to portray NCT WISH's growth step by step, from the 'Confused Boy' concept facing new feelings for the first time to the 'Lover Boy' concept understanding and immersing in love. This is their first new work in six months since their full album 'Ode to Love' in April 2026.
The title track, sharing the album's name 'I SPY,' is a hybrid dance-pop song featuring changes in each section. The lyrics depict the moment of secretly liking someone, with every sense focused on that person, repeatedly using the keyword 'I SPY' to express the excitement and interest in getting to know them better, along with the desire to invite them into their world.
Next is the alternative pop song with a hip-hop flavor, 'We Own This Street,' reflecting the group's firm determination to own the streets with their unique energy and confidence, reshaping the cityscape in their own style. The fast-paced electronic track 'UPGRADE' shows their bold intention and confidence to break out of old boundaries and open new worlds. Meanwhile, the pop dance song 'Super Major' conveys a positive message about self-belief and moving forward despite an unpredictable tomorrow.
Additionally, the album includes songs telling various love stories, such as the heartfelt R&B track 'Hubble Time,' written and composed by hitmaker KENZIE, which portrays a romantic tale by comparing eternal love between 'you and me' with the astronomical physics concept called 'Hubble Time,' illustrating that the size of their love is limitless like the universe. Lastly, '꿈결 (Like A Dream)' is an R&B ballad that samples The Carpenters' song 'Close To You.'
The charm lies in the instrumental sounds blended with the touching emotion of the original song. The lyrics express a wish for a night full of sweet dreams and moments like a shared dream. The album contains six songs in total. Before the comeback, NCT WISH held the offline event 'I SPY YOU' to celebrate the release of their fourth mini album at Korea University Hwajeong Gymnasium on 10-11 October, with three shows attracting over 11,400 people. They performed the title track 'I SPY' for the first time, along with some songs from the album such as 'We Own This Street' and 'UPGRADE.' Moreover, NCT WISH announced a surprise about their second concert tour 'NCT WISH 2nd CONCERT TOUR ‘INTO THE WISH : Face Our WISH’' starting 15-16 January 2027, marking their first performance at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea. This advancement to a larger stage within less than three years since their debut proves the group's rapid growth. Thai fans can look forward to seeing NCT WISH at the concert 'NCT WISH 2nd CONCERT TOUR ‘INTO THE WISH : Face Our WISH’ IN BANGKOK' on 6 February 2027 at Impact Arena.
