Mai Patcharee Reveals Origin of Isan Beyoncé Nickname and Shares Childhood Experience of Family Violence

When Mai Patcharee appeared on the Club Friday Show produced by CHANGE2561 on Saturday, 29 Nov 2025 10:00 GMT+7 on Channel One 31, she opened up despite lacking a hit song but having a full work schedule. She revealed the origin of her nickname "Isan Beyoncé," which transformed her life. Mai Patcharee shared about her harsh childhood that left a difficult family trauma. Her sharp tongue meant no one dared to court her!? She also disclosed the couple's financial management strategy: if either cheats, they must consider the joint money saved!? “Having someone who truly loves and wishes well for us can revive our lives.”

Mai Patcharee is the hottest figure in 2025. It's truly a rare phenomenon—she is famous, in demand, with many show bookings, yet she is a singer without her own hit song?

Mai Patcharee: That's right.

But what do people come to see when you go on stage?

Mai Patcharee: They come to see me swear, bounce, entertain, or just have fun right on stage.

What was it like becoming the Mai Patcharee we know today?

Mai Patcharee: At first, I tried to sell my looks, but my manager told me, "You're not beautiful, you're funny and lively." So I had to find a way to get people interested in who I am beyond just looks. And that's true—I really am not beautiful.

Where did the nickname "Isan Beyoncé" come from?

Mai Patcharee: I styled my hair big and wore a bit of a spicy outfit, then I entertained the crowd. That day changed my life, I would say.

Let's go back to your childhood?

Mai Patcharee: I was born into a family with violence.

What happened that caused such a deep trauma for you?

Mai Patcharee: My older brother killed my father by hitting him with an axe, then covered him with a cloth, dragged him to the front of the house, poured oil, and set him on fire. It was haunting. I would wake up suddenly at night crying. Being on stage helps me forget and feel happy, it makes me forget what’s behind me.

How do you and your partner manage money?

Took Laksika: You've never seen a million baht before, right? So we agreed to open a joint account starting from zero. The rest we manage ourselves. After some time, the first million came in, so we showed it to him. He was so happy he cried.

How do you manage money because it often causes arguments in many couples?

Mai Patcharee: We agreed that if either of us cheats or has someone else, causing heartbreak and one walks away with nothing, everything will belong to the other party.

Growing up witnessing family violence, you had trouble sleeping at night and woke up startled until someone was beside you?

Mai Patcharee: Yes, I had nightmares until I was with him. When I suddenly woke or cried, he would try to wake and comfort me, saying everything has passed. Since then, I no longer have nightmares or wake suddenly.

Took Laksika: He would always cry. I would wake him and comfort him, saying everything is over.

Mai Patcharee: Having someone who truly loves and cares for us can revive our lives.
