Fans of Taiwan's F4 were collectively shocked after rumors circulated earlier that “F4” the legendary Taiwanese boy band famous for the series “Meteor Garden” was making a comeback, but only as F3, raising many questions about what happened.
The project featured only three members from F4: Jerry Yan, Zhou Yumin (Vic), and Wei Jianhao (Vanness Wu). They also brought in Ashin from the band MAYDAY to fill in. Ken Chu All four would perform under the name F Forever during the reunion concert "F Forever Star City World Tour" from 19-22 December 2025 in Shanghai, sparking serious doubts about whether Ken was actually removed from the group.
The four also released a new single titled “Forever Forever,” which Jay Chou featured and co-composed, with Ashin writing the lyrics. After the music video’s release on 5 December, it was met with overwhelming response.
The hashtag #F4变F3 (F4 becomes F3) trended on Weibo, dividing fans—some glad to have F3 rather than none, others insisting “Without Ken, it’s not F4.”
On 8 December, Ken Chu released a video stating that neither he nor his label B'in Music ever signed an official contract, and he was abruptly cut off without negotiation. He found out from external media along with everyone else that he had been removed from the group.
Despite being cut from the important project and unable to join the tour with the other three members, Ken showed sportsmanship by wishing his bandmates success in their performances.
“I still hope that one day, when all four of us share the same desire, we can reunite to truly provide the 'after-sales service' of youthful memories to everyone. I hope everyone will wait for that day, because I... am waiting too.”
F4 was once a famous Taiwanese boy band, with the series Meteor Garden gaining huge popularity across Asia in the 2000s and amassing a large fanbase. In July, F4 reunited to impress fans at a Mayday concert in Taipei Arena, a reunion eagerly awaited by fans.
Reports then emerged that Ken Chu was removed from the group due to repeatedly leaking information about the reunion, upsetting the production team who ultimately decided to exclude him. His video response is the first time he has addressed the situation from his perspective.
