She has become widely known for Rasmee Warana or Rasmee Isan Soul the famous singer who played Pleun in the series Sathu 2 on Netflix. She is being widely discussed due to her character and personality in the show, which many find chilling. However, recently some fans have taken their enthusiasm too far, posting threatening comments on Rasmee's Facebook, prompting her to post a request to separate the world of drama from real life.
Recently, Rasmee Warana attended the “MIRROR50: All Voices, Empowering Ones” event at EM SKYE, 14th floor, EMSPHERE. She spoke about this issue, saying
“How do you feel about your character after seeing the performance?”
“I understand people who dislike me. It’s intense; it’s cruelty. I’m not sure how to lead the character’s background, but as Pleun, who can shoot people, I try to think about it and realize that I’m not human but like a robot.”
“Have you received a lot of insults?”
“Yes, quite a lot, but I don’t mind if it’s criticism of the role itself. However, comments like ‘don’t let me see you’ or ‘don’t meet me at the market’ make me uncomfortable because it crosses the line; it’s not about the role but real life. I feel harassed, so I protect myself by posting that this is unacceptable. I say if comments are about the character, that’s fine, but if they’re like this, I will screenshot and report them because I feel threatened. They might just be joking, but it makes me uneasy.”
“Do you encounter this often?”
“Yes, quite a bit.”
“Are you afraid of being followed to your home?”
“I don’t think so. Maybe the comments are just for fun, but I’m not strong enough to ignore it, so I protect myself in advance. It’s not okay.”
“But some people say your immersive acting shows you really connect with the role?”
“Yes.”
“Are you proud that people now recognize you more by face, not just by name?”
“Yes, definitely. Some compliment my portrayal, saying it’s very detailed, that I acted well, and thank me, asking me to act more.”
“The cruelty aspect went viral, a hitman disguised as a housekeeper?”
“(Laughs)”
“Do you have that persona yourself? Did you create it anew?”
“The hitman persona had to be created because in my normal life, I have mood swings but would never pick up a gun and shoot anyone.”
“Do you enjoy acting?”
“Yes, it’s fun. (If approached for more roles, what would you do?) It depends on what the role and project are.”
“Some wonder if there will be a sequel?”
“I can’t say; it’s up to the director. But if the series continues, I would be happy.”
“Has this series affected your daily life, with more people recognizing you as the singer of this song?”
“Yes, it has. I didn’t just start acting in this series; I was in the film 'Kra Ben Ra Hu' years ago, which led people to discover me and listen to my music. It’s an added benefit from the series.”
“Did you expect to go viral like this?”
“Not at all.”
“What would you say to fans of 'Sathu 2' who dislike you?”
“If it’s about the role Pleun, I just follow the script. If you have concerns, ask the writer or director. Don’t get too involved; distinguish between acting and real life.”
