Noom Soramar Reveals Why His Face and Figure Changed, Clearly Says Hes Not Ready to Act in Boys Love Series

The eternal leading man, the king of daily drama. Noom Soramar. He made a big surprise in 20 years by returning to singing, targeting the 90s era and Gen X, releasing a song called "Safe Zone" and launching it on online platforms. He also addressed heated topics on the program "Toh Noo Maem" on Workpoint Channel 23 with the leading host, Pee Noo Maem Surivipa, where he recently faced heavy criticism about his eating habits causing his figure to decline and his face to change, losing his leading man aura.

Recently, you returned to making music after 20 years?

"Let me explain this way: people think there are no more dramas these days because the platform has shifted entirely to online. I myself have professions as an actor, singer, and host. These are my skills and professions. This is what I'm doing, entering the online world as well, but I'm not a YouTuber or an influencer."

Are you still accepting acting roles?

"Currently, there are no dramas; mostly it's series, especially boys' love series, which requires real acting skills (laughs). Once, Namfon Kulnate called, she's a producer, pressing me like there was an urgent problem, asking if I'd play in a boys' love series as an older actor. I told her I couldn't because I've never played such a role. If you look back at my old films from the Five Star era, like body swap movies between men and women, I have to say I can't act like that; I don't have that style. I just can't play those roles. So I said I could play the father of the younger actors—that's more doable and suits me better."

How is your music comeback after 20 years different? How has it changed?

"It has changed. In the past, we worked in recording studios, releasing vinyl records and CDs. Now, it's digital, uploaded on various platforms. It's exciting because lately, I've been mostly involved with acting in dramas and films, less as a singer. Fortunately, I have the chance to share that I want this kind of image and this kind of music that can be enjoyed by the 90s generation, Gen X, and even Gen Z, with modern language."

There’s been heavy criticism recently that you haven’t been taking care of yourself. Anything you want to say?

"It's because I gained weight. As I explained before, when my child was in kindergarten 3 about to enter grade 1, I was with him every day. I've said my main duty is being a father. I eat with him; if he leaves food, I don't want it to go to waste. My family isn’t wealthy; we have just enough to live. This is what many families do; it’s not different anywhere."

"When my child wants ice cream, I eat ice cream with him. That’s why I’m fat. When appearing in the media, I don't have time to lose weight (laughs). About my illness, yes, I had a kidney disease. I almost had acute kidney failure caused by cramps after playing football and sweating a lot, so I urgently had to recover my kidney function."

"Recovering kidney function meant having two saline drips, one on each arm, totaling four lines, to help flush out fluids. I don’t have chronic kidney disease requiring regular dialysis, nor do I have swelling from salty food. Some people have messaged me to quit drinking because they think I’m always drunk and that’s why my face looks like this. I want to say don’t assume I behave like you do."

"People who have known me since I was young know I’m not into grooming or dressing up. I’m a football player; at home, I wear football shorts. The photos on social media are either for work or just good memories. Sometimes I play with my child, and the nanny takes pictures. I think these are cute father-child moments."
