Mumei Shares How She Met Teacher T., Practiced Buddhism for 4 Years, Donated 8 Million Baht Seeking Solace

Many people were quite shocked when Mumei Pimdao came forward to share her story of practicing Buddhism with Teacher T. for 4 years before realizing she had been deceived and lost 8 million baht.

Recently, after appearing on the "Hon Krasae" program to discuss everything that happened, she gave another interview to the media and revealed how she first met Teacher T., saying

She got to know him through two trusted and close seniors. At that time, she was filming a movie and suffering from depression and stress, so she went to practice Buddhism and saw a psychiatrist, but the problem didn’t improve. The seniors then recommended an expert who could help remove negative energy. She agreed because she trusted those seniors, and that was the start of the story around 2017.

What he taught then was that her depression was due to karma—unseen things from past lives affecting her present. At that time, she believed it somewhat because it felt warm and was a small group of about 15 people, not the large group it is now.

At first, there was no money involved, but by the second or third session, money became part of it. They asked for donations to the foundation or charitable acts without specifying amounts, leaving it up to us. However, as more people joined—around 100 to 200—they started instructing people to transfer money directly to him.

What made me believe he was genuine was that I was vulnerable and seeking refuge. I just wanted to heal at that moment, so I believed. The seniors who introduced me still believe in him, and I cannot do anything about that. The reason I appeared on "Hon Krasae" today is that I want to take responsibility for leading people to join the practice. At first, I thought it was genuine and good, so I want to apologize to those I brought along and to those still involved. Those who have left are lucky, but those still there may have karmic ties and still believe, not yet awakened.

Asked when she first felt something was wrong, Mumei said it was when she noticed the teacher's lifestyle changing—from humble beginnings to changing cars and houses and wearing branded goods, becoming attached to material things. She practiced Buddhism for 4 years starting in 2017, but by 2021 she began to have problems at home. Her family warned that this was not the Buddhist way, which led to arguments. At that time, she defended the practice strongly, but much time has passed since then.

During the practice, Mumei attended every two months as it was a course. They meditated, chanted, reduced karma, and he claimed to remove karma by guiding meditation and asking us to think of the Creator. He said Jesus and the Buddha coexisted, which did not raise suspicion because he said all religions could coexist. He also claimed to be an expert who had changed his mind and had a duty to help others.
