She is considered one of the entertainment figures who truly fights through life. Annie Brook Despite facing many obstacles, she has stood strong for her family, constantly finding ways to earn a living and care for them, earning widespread admiration for her resilience.
Recently, Annie Brook posted that besides online selling, it is important to prioritize learning additional vocational skills. These skills can be relied on in old age, when one might not keep up with the online world. Vocational skills last a lifetime, allowing self-support and preventing being a burden to children.
"Eight years ago, I went to learn vocational skills at Muan Bamrungsil. I learned three recipes. Then, someone called to tell me that my mother was bedridden with a broken hip and unable to walk. At that time, I had just decided to stop working abroad and leave distant places because my child really wanted to stay with me. Suddenly, the new life I was starting collapsed.
But that wasn’t the problem. I took my mother home and cared for her as I had done before (three major times). I always wanted to prolong my mother’s life a little longer. But that time was very tough because I had to stop working abroad and start over from scratch. At that moment, I was overwhelmed alone. If I didn’t have strong will, I don’t think anyone could have gotten through that time. It was incredibly difficult."
"During that period, I looked up at the sky and asked, ‘What should I do?’ I started making chili paste, shredded pork, and sweets to deliver to school parents. Then I began selling online, probably among the first to do so. I asked the media for help to spread the word so I could sell my products."
"Back then, people didn’t know how to buy things online. So I put my phone number on TV, and people called to order. Orders increased until I couldn’t answer all the calls. I told everyone to go to my page and order there because I had to take care of my mother and child and didn’t have time to take down names, addresses, and phone numbers. Eight years ago, no one really understood online buying and selling."
"For the past four years, I’ve been fully committed to online business. Honestly, it’s very reassuring because if you work a little, you get little; work more, you earn more; don’t work, you get nothing. It’s all about your own attitude. But I still want to return to Muan Bamrungsil to learn again because vocational training there is completely free."
"Soon I’ll find time to learn another vocational skill because I want to do that. When I’m older, I won’t be a burden to my children. Online business might be hard to keep up with when we’re old, but vocational skills will always be with us."
In addition, Annie Brook also added a comment under the post saying, “That’s why I say don’t think other people’s destinations are easy, because along the way there are many stories.”
